Description: Austin Franklin Pike was born in 1819 at Hebron, New Hampshire, the son of Uriah and Mary Page Pike. He went to Franklin, New Hampshire, at age twenty-two, where he studied law with George W. Nesmith. He was admitted to the bar in 1845. He and his first wife had no children. He married 2) Caroline White, in 1850. They had three children. He had a law practice in Franklin and at the time of his death was president of the Citizens National Bank at Tilton. He was active in politics and was elected at United States senator in 1883. He died on his farm near Franklin in 1886.
