Description: This edition contains in part one a detailed listing of the statistical series compiled by the organizations of the United Nations system and some non-United Nations organizations active in international statistics. References are included to the organizations that collect the data from countries, the publications in which the data can be found, the frequency of the series and whether the series is maintained in machine-readable form. Part two presents an inventory of the machine-readable databases of economic and social statistics by subject and by organization. Technical descriptions of the computer files are linked to the statistical series in part one by subject-matter codes and database identification numbers. This publication is prepared through a joint effort of the United Nations Statistical Division, the statistical divisions of the regional commissions, specialized agencies and other international organizations.
